Also, this post should not go to a forum "suggestion" but a new forum should be created a"general discussion" or "lobby" where one can post any such queries.

hmmm ... this is where we at general would be a little confused. A language and grammar should have ONE universal standard. Its been a while, two great sentinel of assamese literature continued to do whatever best for the language, but now it is our time that we come up with a standard. With this I would like to request someone at the literary cell to clear such differences between two dictionaries not only for this word but many other that differs for decades.
Now, the reason i raised this issue - I started an assamese bihu channel ( which streams non stop bihugeet, during bihu and one hour every week throughout the year) back in 2001 which is still running at markinkalpataru.org. I called it posuwa - with a pratham sa, that i learned to spell since my childhood days of schooling in assamese medium. I do not call myself a language expert, but while writing assamese, my spelling comes automatically from within.
But I have seen another website running a newsletter portal named poswooa with a dwitya sa ( which came late in 2007, copying my idea, although their newsletter had a different name before )
That is the reason I raised the question - as who is correct.
lets get back to the word again.
pratham sa - is a short sa.- as soka
Dwitya sa - is a long sa - as Suwali
lets pronounce posuwa - the way we heard the song back in 1930s.
o fagunore posuwa....
asoloke uruwa,
.....
I think the singer pronounced the authentic posuwa - with a short sa - not a long sa.
I would like other expart from Assam Sahitya sabha to comment on this.
best regards,
Abhi Barthakur
